Hi! I’m Kennedy, the creator of the “He Did What Now?” blog (+ future podcast)! First, I want to say THANK YOU for visiting this site, for reading these words, and for taking a step towards learning more about Jesus and deepening your faith. Already, you’re killing it!
I’m sure you’re wondering what this blog (and future podcast) is all about and where it will go from here… this initial post is a chance for us to (1) get to know each other a little better and (2) have a sneak peak of what’s to come!
A little about me! I’m Kennedy Brady, a senior at Belmont graduating in May. While I’ll have a cool (and expensive) degree in my hand in a little less than a month, I genuinely (and I mean this so honestly that it hurts to type) have no idea what I am going to do with my life. I feel that there are a lot of paths I could pursue between all of my interests. I love music, songwriting, public speaking, theater/performing, writing… but above all of this, I love the Lord my God. That’s where this blog (and future podcast) has come from - a love for the Lord and a calling to share His love with others.
I felt called into “ministry” (we’ll get into why that’s in quotations later) my sophomore year of college. Trust me, it’s been no walk in the park. I’ve walked through seasons where I was just on fire for the Lord and seasons where I felt so burned out I couldn’t even open my Bible. I’ve had my faith shaken by the world, bad breakups, by stress, and by my own ignorance, and I’ve had my faith rebuilt through good community, reading the Word, devoting time to Biblical research, learning God’s true character, and (finally) trusting Him completely.
I think when you throw out that you’re “in ministry”, people tend to envision you inside the walls of the church house, staying in the sacred space. Over the last couple years, I’ve done some soul-searching… this might not be the kind of ministry for me. Consider this verse:

Oftentimes, I’ve heard this verse preached in a way that suggested that hell would not conquer the Christian faith or the children of God - that hell was on the offensive and we were on the defensive. But… think about this - gates are not offensive. You don’t go into war shouting, “Man the cannons! Grab your weapons! Attack with the gate!” No, gates are used to keep something in and to keep something else out. Here, Jesus is telling Peter that through the actions of the church, the gates won’t be able to stand. It is the church’s job to go on the offensive, to storm the gates of hell, being salt and light to the world and going out to seek and help the souls that hell wants to keep behind that gate. THIS is the type of ministry I find myself called to - out on the offense in the world, being salty and lit for the glory, purpose, and love of God.
In 2023, found myself in the back of a van with 6 of the most amazing teammates I have ever known and a professor that changed my life, when all of a sudden, we started talking about stories and characters from the Bible as if we were spilling all the tea about some soap-opera worthy scenarios. I began to tell the stories of Tamar and Onan and Abraham and Sarah as if I had some juicy gossip to share. We laughed, and the group suggested I share these stories through a YouTube or podcast. Almost a year later, in 2024, the professor, Dr. Boyd Smith tragically and unexpectedly passed away... I felt spurred into action, remembering that night so filled with laughter and love. He Did What Now? was born.

This blog (and future podcast) is a way for me to share love in a time such as this - a time where social media use is at an all time high, a time where it’s easier to find negative things online than positive things, and a time where perfect strangers can become wonderful, true friends and find Godly community through pixels on a screen.
Alright! That was point #1! What are we going to experience through this project together?
Currently, this blog will be hosting 3 separate series of content.
#1 - “He Did What Now?” is a space dedicated to exploring both popular and lesser known stories from the Old and New Testaments, connecting each character and plot back to Jesus. I once had a professor say, “Wherever you cut the Word of God, it will bleed the blood of Jesus.” This series will dive into stories as if we were there ourselves. We’ll talk through the reality - the grossness, the brokenness, the hilarity, the humanity - of Biblical stories and how Jesus in His perfection is present.
#2 - “In Layman’s Terms” is a space to have conversations with Christian Laymen - i.e. a person of faith who takes their love of Jesus into all parts of their life, but specifically their (oftentimes secular) workplace. These interviews are meant to spark thought and conversation as to how we can infuse faith, morals, and values into places where they may or may not be present. It seeks to learn the answer to how we can truly bring Jesus into every room, conversation, or situation we find ourselves entering or in.
#3 - “Walk It Out” is a space that focuses on practical ways to walk out our faith. It’s one thing to talk the talk, but it’s something completely different to walk the walk. We’ll cover and dive into instructions we find in Proverbs, instructions we hear from Jesus, and more. Then, we’ll set into motion practical ways to live the Word every day, from the moment we wake up until the moment we fall asleep.
The best part of all of these series is that you, yes you reading this, lead them! This is a space for you to ask the difficult questions you’re seeking answers to! The posts you read (and eventually the podcasts you’ll listen to) will be fed by your questions and your desire to know the Word and Jesus. Throughout the site, you’ll see links to my Instagram, Facebook, and place to drop a message to my email - USE THEM! This entire blog (and future podcast) is for YOU! Text me, DM me, call me, email me with your questions. Maybe you want to learn how to be the Proverbs 31 person. Maybe you don’t fully understand the Parable of the Sower Jesus told to the disciples. Maybe you can’t wrap your mind around the huge and dysfunctional families we meet in the OT. Send me a message! I’ll sit down, do the research, write a post, and chat with you personally in order to help you succeed in Christ.
Why would I take this on? Because of what He did!
